Open Day: 14th June 2026

Where: Good Small Farms, Hammonds Farm, Stroud GL6 7QN
When: 10am-3pm

Each year we throw open the gates and welcome our lovely community to the farm for our Open Day. It’s an opportunity for us to share what we do and how, and to enjoy food and good times with old friends and new.

What’s on?

Farm tours

Join us for a walk around the farm with Eric, who will show you the beautiful, biodiverse landscape and introduce you to our work at Good Small Farms. The farm in early summer is bountiful and full of life, and you’ll visit our plant nursery and market garden, meet our plucky flock of chickens, Pasture for Life herd of cows, and newborn calves.

When: 11am and 2pm, approximately one hour. Please bring appropriate footwear due to uneven ground and relatively long distances.
Where: meet at the farm shop.

Food and drink

Baked goods, hot drinks, soft drinks, and ice cream will be available throughout the day. We’ll be serving up plenty of fantastic farm food from 11am-3pm, including burgers, lots of salads from the market garden, plus vegetarian and vegan options. First come, first served!

Activities for all

There will be plenty of activities to engage with on the farm, each running from 10am to 3pm:

  • Wool spinning with Alma — watch and learn how to turn raw fleece into yarn
  • Nature trail — spot the many species that live within our landscape
  • Bio-acoustics — visit our listening station from Resonating Fields to discover the sounds of living soil
  • Make an insect hotel to take home
  • Name the next calf (and meet the new calves in person!)

Farm shop and plant sale

Visit our new farm shop to stock up on veg from our market garden, eggs, apple juice from Day’s Cottage, chicken, beef, plus lots of herbs and soft fruit bushes, all potted in organic, peat-free soil and ready for planting.

Good to know

  • there is an accessible toilet on-site
  • hot and cold drinks will be available for sale but please do bring a water bottle
  • wear appropriate footwear, especially if you’re keen to go exploring or on a farm tour!
