Everything is in full swing in our market garden and we’ve just harvested the first fruit from our orchard and nuttery. We should be able to include some fruit as add-ons to our veg bags soon. We’ve been busy transplanting the last of the leeks and trying to keep up with the weeds – when we aren’t harvesting!
This week we’ve been taking up our onions to dry for our winter stock and hanging more flowers to dry. We are having to work, as always, with the weather and are noticing the impact of this very wet month on some of our crops – for example, the cucumbers, although powering along now, may be cut a bit short by the humidity and lack of sunshine. However, not having to irrigate outside is a blessing and there is lots of luscious growth on the more forgiving crops!
You can find us each Saturday at Stroud Farmers Market or order one of our veg bags. Each week in our veg bags, you’ll find 6-8 varieties of vegetables grown in our Stroud market garden. We won’t be buying veg from anywhere else so everything you get will be home-grown with minimal food miles.
You can order a one-off veg bag or subscribe here. You can choose how often you’d like your bag and easily pause, cancel or skip weeks. Veg bags can be collected each Tuesday from our farm in Stroud on Wick Street, GL6 7QN or from The Long Table, Brimscombe Mill, GL5 2SA. If you’d like to suggest another pick-up point, please get in touch here.
